1- What are the types of wood floor existing in the market?
The existing wooden floors in the market can be divided into:
a) natural Wooden floors: wooden carpets (plywood substrate covered with wood veneers) and wooden floor boards.
b) high Pressure Laminate Flooring (Formica type) and high resistance floors (floating types).
2- What is the difference between these floors?
The wooden carpets offer less surface resistance when compared with Eucafloor laminate flooring in the results of abrasion. They are usually applied in the same way as floating floors. Whereas the wooden floors are made from natural wooden planks screwed (boards and floor boards) to the subfloor or fastened with asphalt glues (wood flooring blocks).
The high pressure laminate flooring, in turn, is manufactured from the impregnated paper with resins (phenol and melamine ) pressed at high pressure and temperature, obtaining a single body (Formica). This type of floor is glued directly to the substrate with contact adhesive.
The high resistance laminate flooring is composed of wooden particle/fiber substrate (HPP/HDF), with a balancer and a surface top coated decorative paper and wear overlay impregnated with melamine. It has the same features and properties as the high pressure laminate flooring, but is applied to the substrate as if it were a carpet, i.e., the planks are glued or fitted to each other . These floors float and are not nailed or screwed to the sub-floor.
6- What is the advantage of the Eucafloor laminate flooring compared with a wooden floor?
The Eucafloor laminate flooring has a lot of advantages when compared with the wood en floor.
|Advantages of the Eucafloor laminate flooring compared with the wood floor
||Far less than the wooden floor.
||The HPP substrate made of eucalyptus wood particles, coming from certified forests. Eucatex was one the first companies to be granted the FSC® Certification, which confirms that its floors are ecologically correct.
|Easy to install
||The laminate flooring is installed by means of its tongue and grooved fitting system , with or without a PVA D3 based glue, without needing to glue or nail the floor on the subfloor. Moreover, the Wood en floor usually needs to be varnished, which causes the consumer discomfort due to the dirt and odor.
Cleaning and Maintenance
8- How should the Eucafloor laminate flooring be cleaned?
The cleaning should be executed with a vacuum cleaner (except those with a suction tube which scrapes the floor) or a broom with soft bristles and a damp cloth well soaked in a solution of household cleaning products free of wax or silicone. Possibly (once a week), the cleaning can be done diluting one or two tops of the (Laminate Cleaner or neutral detergent in 1 liter of water. Soak the cloth in this mixture, twist it well and apply it to the floor. Never use cutting or abrasive material, wax or electric waxers, a steel sponge, sandpaper or products with a silicone base.
12- How can more difficult stains be removed?
For each type of stain, there is an appropriate procedure. Follow the instructions:
|Water and neutral liquid soap
||General cleaning (latex paint)
|Water and neutral detergent
||General cleaning (grape juice, wine, coffee, soft drink, lipstick)
||General cleaning (3 spoonfuls per liter of water)
||Stains of pen ink, mercury, residue of Eucafloor cola
|Turpentine, thinner, kerosene*
||Paint, varnish and grease
|Pure sodium hypochlorite (sanitary water)
||Not advisable; it can stain if not removed immediately
||Stain and fat
||Abrasive and scratches
||Abrasive and scratches
|* Fatty product, so after removing the stains, used a cloth soaked in a solution of water and liquid soap to remove the fat.
15- Do the Eucafloor Laminate floorings receive any treatment against termites?
The Eucafloor floors are produced by high technology equipment, which uses high pressure and temperature. Therefore, there are no termites present when the product leaves the factory. Before installing the floor, it is advisable to analyze the room to detect the presence of termites in the place. If there is any insect nest, it is necessary to disinfect the place before installing the floor.
16- Does laminate flooring scratch?
The Eucafloor laminate flooring is among the most resistant in the market. Nevertheless, as any smooth surface, it can be scratched. It is advisable to place mats or small rugs at the entrance of the rooms to contain the dirt excess of the shoes. Using chairs with polyurethane casters and protective felt on furniture, chair and table legs are also advisable procedures.
Storage and Installation
17- How should the boxes of laminate flooring be stacked and stored?
The floor boxes should be stacked in the room temperature at 5 centimeters from the floor (use wooden wedges) and 15 centimeters from the wall, for 24 hours without opening them, to acclimatize the boards. The maximum stacking must not exceed 5 meters high.
Do not store the boxes in the vertical position or leaning against the wall. Store the closed boxes in the horizontal position, using a flat base to avoid direct contact with the ground.
Features of the Product
25- What is the composition of the Eucafloor laminate flooring?
The Eucafloor laminate Floorings are composed of a highly resistant wood substrate, HPP is produced with Wood coming from forests certified by FSC® and other controlled sources. It is a lengthened and needled eucalyptus shaped particle panel, thermal fused with melamine resin. Its surface is covered with decorative high gram paper, impregnated with melamine resin . The wear overlay, impregnated with melamine and aluminum dioxide is also applied on the surface to make it more resistant to abrasion.
The backside is covered with high gram lkraft paper impregnated with melamine.
26- What does floating floor mean?
This term is used to define floors which are not nailed or glued to the subfloor, i.e., they are only fastened by means of their tongue and grooved fitting with a PVA-D3 Eucafloor based glue depending upon the line.
